Adelphi is a rural area located in Saint James Parish, Jamaica, approximately 13.5 km (8.4 mi) from Montego Bay, the parish capital, and around 116.8 km (72.6 mi) from Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. It is known for its agricultural activity, primarily farming, and its location in the hilly terrain of Jamaica’s interior. The community is within proximity to the popular tourist destination of Montego Bay, offering a contrast between urban developments and rural landscapes. Although Adelphi itself does not have large-scale commercial developments, its position within the parish and its accessibility to Montego Bay make it an area of interest for both residential living and agricultural ventures. It is also an example of rural communities in Jamaica that may see gradual changes in development due to infrastructural improvements and economic shifts.
