An Advocacy Planner, or Advocate Planner, is a special type of city planner who helps make sure that everyone in a community has a voice and gets what they need. They listen to people, especially those who might not be heard, like families who can’t afford a good place to live or kids who need safe parks to play in. In Jamaica, these planners are important because cities are growing fast, and they help make sure that new buildings and neighborhoods are friendly and safe for everyone. They work with local leaders and organizations to create plans that include things like affordable homes, good schools, and clean parks.

Around the world, advocacy planners make sure that big construction projects don’t push out families who have lived there for a long time or hurt the environment.
