In Jamaica, there is a special program called Beach Watch that helps keep our beaches and fishing communities safe. This program was started by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) on June 19, 2017, at Greenwich Farm in Kingston.

The main goal of the Beach Watch program is to stop the use of illegal guns and reduce violence, especially in places where people fish or relax on the beach. The program works with many different people like police officers, fishermen, local communities, and others to make sure everyone is safe when they visit the beach.

The program also helps keep our beaches clean, makes sure people follow safety rules, and teaches people how to protect the environment. More than 300 fishermen have already joined the program, and soon, other beaches in places like Portsmouth, Old Harbour Bay, Rae Town, and Rocky Point will also be part of Beach Watch.

So, when you visit the beach, remember that there are many people working together to keep it safe and clean for everyone!
