Bloomfield Great House

Set on a hill overlooking Mandeville in Manchester, Jamaica, Bloomfield Great House is a striking symbol of the island’s rich heritage. Originally part of the Bloomfield Estate, which predates the creation of Manchester parish in 1814, the property has seen many uses over the years, from a coffee plantation to citrus farming, cattle rearing, and dairy production.

A Historic Landmark

Established during Jamaica’s colonial era, Bloomfield Estate thrived thanks to Manchester’s fertile soil and cool climate. Initially focused on coffee, a prized Jamaican export, the estate later transitioned to other agricultural ventures, reflecting the island’s evolving economy.

Timeless Architecture

The Bloomfield Great House embodies the Georgian style, combining elegance with practicality. Wide verandahs wrap around the house, offering shade and ventilation, while large sash windows welcome light and cool breezes.
