Cave Valley

Cave Valley is a rural settlement in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, located at approximately 18.27°N latitude and 77.37°W longitude. The area is known for its lush landscapes and proximity to significant geological features. One notable site is the Thatchfield Great Cave, which serves as one of the largest bat roosts on the island and supports a diverse population of invertebrates, including beetles and spiders, sustained by bat guano deposits. Another important geological feature near Cave Valley is Hutchinson’s Hole, a massive 98-meter-deep sinkhole, historically linked to 18th-century events. These natural formations contribute to the area’s rich speleological landscape, making it a point of interest for researchers and caving enthusiasts.
