
Christ Church, located at 1 East Street in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, Jamaica, is an Anglican church with a rich history dating back to the 17th century. The first rector, known only as Mr. Nicholas, was appointed in 1666 to serve in Morant Bay. The original church, situated at Church Corner, fell into disrepair and was abandoned. Subsequently, a new brick church was constructed in 1865 at its current location.
The church is part of the Diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands and maintains an active congregation. It hosts various community activities, including services and special events. For example, a special Women’s Day Service was held, reflecting the church’s commitment to community engagement.
