“Dash weh,” meaning “throw away” in Jamaican Patois, is commonly used when discussing getting rid of unwanted or unnecessary items. In real estate, it might arise during preparation for selling a home, with an agent advising, “Yuh haffi dash weh all di old furniture if yuh want di place fi look modern and appealing to buyers.” A homeowner renovating a property might say, “Mi dash weh di old tiles and put in something brand new fi uplift di kitchen.” During viewings, prospective buyers could comment, “If mi buy dis, mi woulda dash weh di ugly curtains and repaint di walls.” The phrase highlights the value of decluttering and updating spaces, key steps in enhancing the marketability of a property and making it more attractive to potential buyers or renters.
