Is it normal for builders to ask for more money midway through a renovation project in Jamaica?

A DIYer, or “Do-It-Yourselfer,” is someone who likes to fix things or make improvements around the house on their own, instead of paying someone else to do it. In Jamaica, this could mean someone buying an older house that needs repairs and doing the work themselves, like painting the walls, fixing the roof, or updating the kitchen. DIYers enjoy learning how to do things themselves, often watching videos or reading guides online to help with their projects. Many people around the world do this because it can save money, be fun, and help turn a house into something special. In real estate, a DIYer might buy a home that’s not in perfect condition, fix it up, and either live in it or sell it for a higher price. This is a popular way to get involved in real estate, especially in places where property prices are high, like Kingston or Montego Bay. DIYers are all about rolling up their sleeves, saving money, and making their homes just the way they want them.
