flooding in jamaica ghetto

Flash floods in Jamaica are sudden and intense events often triggered by heavy rainfall, especially during the hurricane season or tropical storms. These floods can occur with little warning, causing significant damage to infrastructure, homes, and agriculture, particularly in low-lying areas and along riverbanks. In urban centers, inadequate drainage systems can exacerbate the effects, leading to rapid water accumulation and posing risks to residents and businesses. Globally, flash floods are a growing concern due to climate change, which has increased the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. For Jamaica and other vulnerable regions, improving early warning systems, infrastructure resilience, and public awareness is crucial to mitigating the impacts of flash floods.
