Frass: In Jamaican Patois, “frass” is a slang term that refers to being high, often from consuming marijuana, but it can also describe an exaggerated state of excitement or relaxation. In the context of real estate, it might surface in casual conversations or humorous exchanges, such as an agent joking with a client about the peaceful vibe of a property: “Di backyard space yah so serene, yuh coulda sit down an feel frass off di natural breeze alone.” It could also be used lightheartedly to describe the euphoria of closing a great deal, as in “Di client frass wid joy afta dem get di keys fi di dream home.” While it’s a term rooted in informal and youthful expressions, it brings a relatable and culturally rich energy to dialogues surrounding Jamaican real estate.
