Galina Lighthouse

The Galina Lighthouse is located near Port Maria, on the picturesque North Coast of Jamaica in the parish of St. Mary. Situated in a key maritime region, this lighthouse is an essential navigational aid for vessels traversing the Caribbean Sea. Built with concrete and painted white, the tower stands at over 40 feet in height, with the light itself positioned about 60 feet above sea level to ensure its visibility over long distances.

The light emitted from the Galina Lighthouse follows a distinctive flashing pattern: a white light flashes every 1.2 seconds, followed by 10.8 seconds of darkness. This unique signal helps mariners identify the lighthouse from afar, particularly when navigating along the coastline of St. Mary. Its light can be seen for miles, guiding ships safely along the often-treacherous North Coast waters.
