Gimme-Me-Bit

Gimme-Me-Bit is a settlement located in Clarendon Parish, Jamaica, approximately 5 km west of Hayes and 9 km southwest of May Pen, the parish capital. Situated at coordinates 17.89°N latitude and 77.28°W longitude. Gimme-Me-Bit is known for its vibrant cultural heritage, particularly the annual Hussay Festival. This festival, celebrated in Gimme-Me-Bit and neighboring communities like Race Course and Kemps Hill, honors the martyrdom of Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Mohammed. The event features colorful processions with intricately designed tadjah (model mausoleums), music, and communal gatherings, reflecting the rich Indo-Caribbean traditions of the area.

The community is served by the Gimme-Me-Bit Primary & Infant School, and offers accommodations such as The Platinum Hotel, providing visitors with a place to stay while experiencing local culture.
