Haffi: In Jamaican Patois, “haffi” means “gotta” or “have to,” expressing necessity or obligation. It is commonly used to indicate that something is required, essential, or urgent. In the context of real estate, this phrase might come up when discussing what needs to be done to secure or complete a deal. For example, an agent might tell a client, “Yuh haffi get di financing sorted before wi can move forward wit di offer.” If a property requires specific repairs before being listed, an agent could explain, “Dis house haffi be fixed up a likkle bit before wi can show it properly.” It’s a way to emphasize important actions or decisions that must be made in order for things to progress smoothly, highlighting the urgency and necessity of certain steps in the real estate process.
