In Jamaica, real estate agents’ earnings can vary significantly based on the type of properties they deal with and their sales volume. The average salary for a real estate agent hovers around JMD 2,494,937 per year or JMD 1,199 per hour, but agents handling high-value sales can earn much more.

For example, properties priced at JMD 5 million (approximately USD 32,000) or more are quite common in upscale areas like Kingston, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios. High-end properties, including luxury homes valued at USD 1 million (approximately JMD 155 million) or more, can lead to considerable commissions. Since agents typically earn around 3-7% commission on each sale, a property sold for USD 5 million could result in a commission ranging from USD 150,000 to USD 350,000 (approximately JMD 23-54 million).
