Identification is how people prove who they are, usually by showing a document like a passport, driver’s license, or national ID card. In Jamaica, when someone is buying or selling a house or land, they need to show their ID to make sure everyone knows who is involved. This is important to prevent anyone from pretending to be someone else and causing problems. Identification is needed when signing papers, applying for a loan, or registering property with the government. The process works the same way in other countries too. In Jamaica, people also use a special number called a TRN (Tax Registration Number) to help track important things like taxes. By using proper ID, everyone involved in the real estate deal can feel safe knowing that everything is being done the right way and that ownership of the property is clear.
