Is it unreasonable to prefer working with a realtor who is licensed in Jamaica but originally from the UK like I am?

Not at all—it’s completely reasonable.

Choosing a realtor is a personal decision, and it makes perfect sense to want someone who understands your cultural background, communication style, and expectations—especially when navigating a property market that might be unfamiliar.

As long as the realtor is properly licensed in Jamaica, you’re well within your rights to choose someone you connect with and trust. Shared experiences often make the process smoother and more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for someone who bridges both worlds, I’m Dean Jones—originally from the UK and now a licensed Realtor Associate in Jamaica. I’m also the founder of Jamaica Homes, and I work with Coldwell Banker Jamaica Realty. I understand the unique journey of moving between the UK and Jamaica, and I’d be happy to assist you with your property goals on the island.

Feel free to reach out anytime—I’d love to help.
