An order of winding up in Jamaica refers to a court-issued decision that starts the process of closing down a company that is unable to continue its business operations, typically because it is financially insolvent. This order directs the company to stop all business activities, sell off its assets, and pay its debts as much as possible. It is usually sought by creditors or the company itself when it becomes clear that the company cannot meet its financial obligations.
