Overimprovement in Jamaican real estate means making changes to a property that are too expensive or fancy for the area it is in. For example, if someone lives in a neighborhood where most houses are simple and affordable, but they decide to build a big swimming pool, add expensive marble floors, or create a large outdoor kitchen, they might be spending more money than the house is really worth. This can cause problems because when it’s time to sell the house, it may not sell for a price that covers all the money spent on these upgrades.
