Realtor Update: Changes to Legislative Framework

 Here's a quick update on some changes to the rules for real estate dealers in Jamaica:

  1. Dormancy Policy Revoked:

    • Dealers acting as qualifying directors of a dealer company can now choose whether to apply for an individual license or put their license on dormancy for a particular year.

  2. Supervising Dealer Eligibility:

    • The number of persons attached to a single dealer has been increased from two to four.

    • Supervising Dealers must meet certain criteria, including completing the Real Estate Supervisory Dealers Continuing Professional Development Course, holding a current dealer's license, having at least 3 years of practicing dealer experience, being fully compliant with legal filings, having no serious complaints, and meeting office requirements.

  3. Real Estate Dealers Course:

    • A two-day course will be offered, with the first day for all dealers and the second day specifically for supervising dealers.
