The Rio Nuevo Battle Site, located near the Rio Nuevo river in Jamaica’s Saint Mary Parish, marks the location of the final significant battle between British and Spanish forces in June 1658. This engagement, known as the Battle of Rio Nuevo, was the largest fought on Jamaican soil.
