Let’s not beat around the bush. Let’s get straight to the point. There has been an awful lot of interest in prefabrication house building in recent  years, but not much has come out of it.“Prefabrication is the practice of assembling components of a structure in a factory or other manufacturing site, and transporting complete assemblies or sub-assemblies to the construction site where the structure is to be located.”

The ancient Romans shipped pre-cut stone columns, pediments, and other architectural elements to their colonies in North Africa, where the numbered parts were reassembled into temples. The idea took on a new impetus with the technological advances of the Industrial Revolution.  Modernist architects of the last century put the prefabricated house at the center of their project to make a new world from the products of industry.
