Unu is a Jamaican Patois term used to refer to “you all” or “you guys,” often addressing a group of people. It is a plural form, commonly used to communicate directly with more than one person, whether in casual conversation or more formal settings. In real estate, unu may be used when an agent is speaking to a group of potential buyers or investors. For example, “Unu check out di new developments in Kingston,” could be used to draw attention to a property or project. A seller might say, “Unu mi friends, wi need fi come together and buy di land,” when encouraging others to pool resources for a joint purchase. Similarly, during a negotiation meeting, an investor might say, “Unu all see di potential in dis property,” highlighting the group’s shared interest in the opportunity. The use of “unu” in real estate emphasizes a collective approach to decision-making and ownership, showcasing the importance of collaboration in property dealings.
