An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a special process that happens when grown-ups in Jamaica want to do big projects that might change nature. Let’s explore what this means in more detail:

Understanding EIA in Jamaica

Imagine someone wants to build a big hotel on a beautiful beach in Jamaica. Before they start building, they need to think about how this might affect the beach, the sea, and all the animals and plants that live there. That’s where an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) comes in.

What Does EIA Do?

  1. Identifying and Predicting: First, experts go to the beach and study it carefully. They look at the sand, the water, and the creatures that live there. They try to predict what might happen if they build the hotel. Will the beach get dirtier? Will some animals have to find a new home?

  2. Evaluating Impacts: Next, they think about all the predictions. If building the hotel will hurt the beach or the animals a lot, they need to think about if it’s still a good idea. Maybe they …
