In Jamaica, how much you need to invest in real estate depends on how you plan to invest. Here’s a simple breakdown:

  1. Buying Property Directly (Traditional Investment): If you want to buy a property, the minimum investment will be the price of the property. In Jamaica, this can vary greatly. A small house in rural areas might cost around JMD 8 million to JMD 15 million, while properties in cities like Kingston or tourist areas such as Montego Bay or Negril will cost much more.Don’t forget, there are also extra costs like stamp duty, registration fees, and maintenance fees that you’ll need to pay when buying property.

  2. Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs): A REIT lets you invest in real estate without actually owning the property. You can buy a share in a REIT for much less.
