Zum: In Jamaican Patois, “Zum” is a slang term for a vehicle, often referred to as a “whip” in urban vernacular. In the context of real estate, it can come up in conversations about accessibility or transportation options related to a property. For instance, an agent might say, “Yuh nuh haffi worry ’bout parking space fi yuh zum—di driveway big an’ spacious.” It can also be used when highlighting the convenience of a location, like “Dis spot perfect if yuh always deh pon di move inna yuh zum—everything close by an’ easy fi reach.” The term adds a contemporary, relatable tone to discussions, particularly when appealing to younger clients or those who prioritize lifestyle and mobility in their home-buying decisions.
